Cryoskin uses a process known as cryolipolysis, also known as fat freezing. It involves a nonsurgical method of cooling body fat to reduce fat cells without damaging other cells. A combination of heat and cold are applied to the body in targeted areas. The subzero temperature breaks down the fat cells and leaves you with a thinner body, while the toning effect also reduces the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.
Cryoskin facials are similar, using a toning session of 20 to 30 minutes to shape, smooth and tighten lax skin, lines & wrinkles. Many consider it an alternative to popular injections. Both body and face require 3-6 sessions for the most beneficial results. Packages are available and most economical for patients.
After a consultation, the areas to be treated are massaged. An applicator is used to produce a couple of minutes of heat and then applies the fat-freezing process. Once the fat cells are broken down they pass harmlessly through the lymphatic system.
Depending on which Cryoskin procedure you have, they may target a single area or several areas per procedure. Patients can expect a brief cold sensation during the process, and the fat is cooled for up to an hour. On the whole, the procedure takes about a half-hour and is done in the same day with no downtime.
Localized redness and soreness are fairly common, but these symptoms only last for a few hours post-treatment. Increased thirst is also common along with extra urine production.
While results after the first session are visible and encouraging, the fat-breakdown process takes 2-3 weeks for best results, and with good diet and exercise the slimming and toning effects can last for several months.
